On the contrary, I believe we have both weathered well!

On a footnote, Colin swung by my house on his way to adventures in Alabama. Samantha had been giving me carburetor fits since earlier this Spring. I was having issue with idle, and to no end I was taking it out of gear and nursing the throttle at stops just not to let Sam die. When I timed and set the dwell in January, Sam developed the idle issue. I adjusted the idle to no avail. When Colin came back to ask about Samantha, we checked the booster hose (Well Colin did, and put a temporary fix on the end, there was an issue with it beginning to crack, it really needs replaced). The carburetor could not be tuned, so in a suggestion that would make a Indy 500 pit crew green with envy, we took the carburetor off and disassemble it in the driveway. My RTV fix from last year was at it's end, and RTV had plugged the pilot jet. That is number 34 here on this exploded view.

We cleared it, reassembled the carburetor and put it on. After some fine tuning Sam was off and running great! Really I would not have been looking for that, but Colin did. Now I can stop and not fear an idle drop and die. Great job Colin!

Say, am I the only one posting the Colin visits? I want to see what everyone is up to! Don't do it all in blogs or Facebook! I want stories!

Indeed, this was to be the winter of me versus rust cage match, two go in but only one comes out. However, I am downrange in Afghanistan like Colin says so it will be a next winter project. My Bus waits patiently for me back at the base, in the motor pool. I wonder if it drives the base commander crazy to see it there.

Hehe, damn hippies anyway. I do remember, back in the late 80's on Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio, there was a 70's green Bay with a lot of stickers on the back. It must have been an older Master Sergeant or higher who drove it, a Vietnam Veteran with almost 20 years in, because he had on there:

I need some of them old bumper stickers.
