Now that I have decided to leave, your weather in Portland shall recover. I apologize for tarrying and delaying your summer. You shall have a string of lovely summer days while I go visit the 58* mists of the Eureka CA coastline.

Executive decision:
Bookwus Bus stays in PNW. I pick it up in the fall. The engine vibration yes, but as importantly, lean-out/bog/hesitation in carburetor has whitened the plugs. :silent:

Would have loved to see the bookwus bus, but will hopefully get another shot either in the fall (that's when our summer is, nudge nudge) or next year.

Don't be too discouraged about coming here. It's only 58* and foggy/misty in the morning, before climbing to a near-unbearable 65* with bright sunshine by 11 o'clock.
Coffee and stocking caps will be available, until the :sunny: joins in.

Chris,

you best get yerself some earplugs to deal with the incessant whinin...uh... comments about the icy conditions... :pirate:

Though if you can get a shot with Colin in his shortpants and mukluks I think you could make a mint...
So it all started when I wanted to get better gas mileage....

Well, not having a prior reference to the vibration of concern that initiated the efforts to address this past Tuesday, and along for the test drive after efforts to address were made, there was still an alarming out of balance low rpm thing going on I'm glad I have never experienced in Bertha. But it was better, Colin and the 'bone agreed.

The type 1 force is strong.

I think Mike's parts stash still has a couple carbs left, that would be a fitting combo.
Speaking of Mike's parts stash, he promised me the original rear interior lamp/headlamps/wiper/emergency flasher knobs. Know where they are? These Beetle ones are ............... tacky.

I definitely want to have a relaxed mosey when I drive the BookwusBus, not this crazed interstate stuff that the BobD handles with aplomb.

Did your weather improve the moment I escaped? Of course it did.

Ohhh don't be so harsh on yourself Colin. It always gets nice around the last weekend of July, first of August.

Back in the 100's here in Georgia! If someone can spontaneously combust in a mall parking lot, then I was awfully close yesterday to doing just that. BTW I now have a house with a man cave! No more engine drops in a parking lot with Colin again!
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

The other day I was lamenting that the garage in my new house is a wee bit smaller than the shop at my old house. Then I bitch-slapped myself out of it when I remembered that some of our esteemed forum members don't even have a garage of any kind. Congrats on the upgrade and thanks for reminding me just how good I have it.
