This forum software and I do not get along. I cannot let you respond to the actual posts above because the order will get botched. So, please run amok here, and jot the prefix number to that which one you are replying. Oy. Veigh.

1. Glad to see the Humboldt shirt getting some mileage.
2. I only see 7 pushrods in the carboard holder, but probably my failing eyesight.

3. The story starts with valve adjustment on an engine that shouldn't be tightening up after only 15k miles, then moves on to the big rebuild of an engine at 15k miles.

I know this is a 'tar and feather' comment here, and I am half joking, but this is how people end up going down the Subaru path. When you see even the most faithful struggle to get these things to work correctly, it makes a fella want to throw up his hands and say 'AHHHHHHG' :p

I like the long form story format. This would make an excellent YouTube series.

You shall see how it was that simple oversights were making life miserable for customers. Can't blame the engines. We had fun rebuilding them and they are running well.

With Volkswagens, as with yoga and really life in general I’ve found that if I am able to hold my intention for the journey to be the destination those oversights are fewer and farther between. Of course education can greatly smooth the bumps in the road as well!
