We can take a nice "evolution" photo of our 3 in a line.... 1959, 1970, 1978 ! If others from the LEAKOIL contingent are available, additional years can be added. I'm looking forward to meeting Chloe!

Here's how it works:
You don't ask me if I am coming to Colorado, you TELL me I am coming to Colorado.
Then I say "yes I am coming to Colorado."

So, do I pass through Colorado around August 10th, or do I visit Colorado around August 10th?
That would be up to you.

Why only 4 days in Portland this year? You're usually here for a couple weeks.
I only gripe because I only see your skinny ass once a year. Not enuff.

didn't there used to be a ton of Portland folks that actually did appointments?

I thought the same thing when I saw the schedule, but just wondered if Colin had simply trained the area out of needing his assistance anymore!

For example, my list includes (but don't necessarily all need to be done :withstupid: ):

Engine tuneup and getting it running right
CO leaks into the cab - might be from the engine bay or further along the exhaust system
New gas tank sender fitted but not registering at gauge up front
Firewall not fitted properly
Check brakes
Slider refresh
Driver's door lock refresh

I'm ordering new plugs, wires, TS2, strainer gaskets and already have oil and filters (oil and fuel), new belt, spare rotor. Hopefully the new plug wires will be better than the last set, where two have already come apart where the wire meets the plug connector :angryfire: . Anything else while I have an open order with Bus Depot? :cyclopsani:

I have axle stands and ramps, but only the factory jack at the moment.
This is exactly the sort of post that belongs in my inbox so we can have a PM dialogue about what we can expect to accomplish, and what parts we need. We are not going to do it here, it would be a real mess.
Colin

(p.s. all VW spark plug connectors are supposed to screw into the end of the wire. You just turn them in clockwise. You promise yourself to not pull on the wire when you are trying to remove the connector next time)

This is what happened. Look at all of the competent Portland mechanics niow. Even the hoola hoop girl did a masterful engine overhaul. Some Bob dude is running his own VW repair business, now.

It is a terrible thing to be a teacher.

I'm sure I have long ago told Colin that if he is successful at his job he puts himself out of business. Shining testimonial, actually for the value of the service beyond the dollar.

I just realized that the visits have already begun (did they ever really end?) - with two already logged as completed.

yay. let's all do a better job at taking at least ONE picture to include in a short summary to share with others, to help better explain what the hell it is we do to those who haven't done it before.
