Colin - I will admit that besides auto repair manuals and the occasional non-fiction survival book, I hate to read. But, I hang on your every word when it comes to your mini travel essays.

You have got a talent there my friend. Start book #2!

And me. Endlessly. Annoyingly. In fact, he hates me. :sunny:

Only those who have spent the night in empty parking lots can sense the tension described.

Breathless, we wait....
I will begin grilling him for stories when he gets here. If I can get enough out of him, we can get the first two chapters in one weekend.

Imagine the driver in the truck when Colin tore out of there!

"You remember that movie Christine? That haunted Lexus tore right past me at 3:00AM with no one in it! I had to drink a few just to calm down! Then the cops came and caught me pissing in the grass!"

Sometimes, some times.

I would suggest a conscious effort to avoid revisiting the area of a vibe out like that.

Great tale though. Thanks.

It is not the area. It was the time/person. Daytime in Brockport is a nice small town. I will not be owned by avoidance . . . except that I have been all my life.

You can't reason with some two-legged losers, either. I often pack along a .45 auto in bearland or high crime areas.
Colin ain't a gun guy, I think...maybe he'd sleep well enough with a bat or something.
:brave:
Nah, I am well-packed with the tools of my trade.
"Ya want some more GumOut in the eyes, punk?"
"This fuel hose clamp will crush your knuckle beyond repair."
"Ever been brained by a floor jack?"
An LM-1 cord with a pipe cheater will asphyxiate.
Heck, a pipe cheater alone is my bat right there.
"Hey pal, I already pickle-forked a few holes in your driver's door, ya want some in you?"

In the Lexus, I only had a soft jacket, a can of Diet Coke, my keys, shoes, and a sleeping bag.

I will let you know if another interesting interaction should come up.

Just read this over a morning beverage and I have to say I was glad I didn’t have to wait for part two. Where are the priorities of cops these days? And why in this overcrowded, overpopulated world of ours will the coke-snorting serial killer find comfort in crowding out a solitary traveler in the middle of the night? And how do you write exactly the way you speak?

Colin, we’ve gotta get some of this stuff published in a tangible format. I’m on fire with the idea.....
