Well we did talk about a possible plan of you coming to help disassemble and assess for a parts list, then come back round for the longer part of helping bring the bug back to life. I will cleancleanclean parts....
We could do the disassemble sooner the better I should be able to find a spot in the Annapolis shop storage bays for keeping us warm and dry. Yes dry...
So I guess anytime, Thursdays and Fridays are the best, I don't have to take leave from my part time job.
What do you think of this? And when is good for you?:)
PM me if you want.
Meg

Re: Atlanta
Tell me what you'd like to address on what vehicle, and if you are weather-independent. Atlanta could be coming up sooner rather than later if we have a nice warm sunny day.chuxbus wrote:I'd be interested in a visit during one of your swings through Atlanta

Me too. We'll go together. This job can take days. Lots of clamping, stretching, hair-dryering, gluing. Question is, when can we find an open-ended block of time to aloow for exigencies?VWBusrepairman wrote:Bloomington, Indiana; 1978 Sunroof Bus, headliner removal/ replacement.
Applicable glass/ seals will be removed and any other requests you might have. I expect this to be the job that puts me in the psychiatric ward.

I have 176 hours of vacation to use this year, so let me know as this may take several days. I have the heat gun and if this place doesn't sell, then we will use the same garage with the music station you enjoyed.Amskeptic wrote:Question is, when can we find an open-ended block of time to aloow for exigencies?

Indeed it does. Perhaps I could make a documentary of the headliner install as well? "If you can install a sunroof headliner, you can do anything..."Bookwus wrote: If I can find it, does that interest you?

Consider yourself on the list. But please look around and see if you can stretch it to a full day.BusBerd wrote:Heyya Colin!

Miss Zora Loves the Attention She Gets from Colin
Hey Colin!!!
Count me in for a full day (thursdays, fridays & saturdays are best so far).
Miss Zora is running great (knock on wood) but I'm sure she'll need some TLC by this summer. She has been enjoying her new lease on life to the fullest with the big trip to Burning Man and worry-free trips to the mountains and up to Washington. And she's going to Nehalem Bay this weekend. Woo!
If anything, I need to address that mess of an electrical system I have, get the slider door and driver side door to work better, maybe locate and correct a mystery oil leak.
And, of course, the bonus is getting to spend time with you.

I could stretch it into a full day easily, but cost is an issue. If my house sells by then, I will be able to afford it. If not, money will be real tight for a while.Amskeptic wrote:Consider yourself on the list. But please look around and see if you can stretch it to a full day.BusBerd wrote:Heyya Colin!

I have a very good friend with a 74 Adventurewagon in need of some assistance in Minneapolis, as their van has sat for a few years now without use and they need help getting it going again.
motor was rebuilt in SF, CA in 2003 and it hasn't seem much use since then. duel dellorto (sp?) carbs.. beautiful bus.
would you be able to split the day between two different vehicles?
if so, im sure they would be interested, very fun people, and ill touch base and confirm (and get them over here to post, they aren't online much) if that sounds ok?
