Mmmm, chantrelles. Dry cooked with a touch of butter later. Maybe a splash of white wine.

Looks to be around 60 out there this coming weekend. Not one to be missed, as summer slips away....

Hey, Hey can Lily Pug and I come on this campout?
I know we have not seen you folks since Nahalem but we would love to hang out and camp with you folks again.

We have tons of Cherrie Maiders too.

Huh? Huh? can we be apart of the club? :cherry:

All you need is
1. a running bus (or "van" in your case)
2. a sense of adventure (or "insanity" in our case)
The club is more of a "Society", wherein, anyone that shows up is part of it all. Hell my friend Don even showed up last year, and he drives an Explorer.
I'll post some gud directions some time this week. It's pretty easy to find though.
It'll be fun trying to find a new camp, where we can all fit! :flower:
Actually christened 2 new fire rings already this summer.

Directions:

OR224 East to Estacada

Pass thru Estacada, stay on 224 for 6.5 miles.

Opposite Promontory Park, turn left at a sign for Silver Fox RV Park, then veer left almost immediately on Forest Service 4610.

Stay on this mostly gravel road for 18.4 miles. Keep an eye out for 4610 signs but don't count on it...you can also go by your odometer. Fork left at 7.1 miles, turn right at 8 miles, and fork left at 17 miles. But if you follow the map it should be pretty obvious.
When you see Squaw Lakes you will be getting close. We will post signs near the camp if it's not obvious.

The first one a few years back if you're interested in that sort of thing:

Getting stoked!! Hoping the weather is as nice as the reports are showing. Looks like we will have enough people to break out the dutch oven and see if I can burn up some dinner Friday nite.

Me too! Wish it was Thursday.
Hey guys, take it easy on 4610. Lots of random potholes, and some washout damage. No problem if you take it slow and aware.

HOOOOOWL........

I think my sensibilities are convincing me that I must take advantage of this weekend's dry weather to make some serious headway on the vanagon's woes.

The fact that I would have to take my Volvo to make this camp (my only reliable vehicle at this time), combined with the impending rainy season is making me have to bow out.

I want to make the October camp so's I must make progress.

The tunnel is dark and the light I see could be a figment of my imagination. Hinterland wrenchin' is often lonely yet character building.
So it all started when I wanted to get better gas mileage....
