December Rock n Roll in Maupin

Post by deschutestrout » Mon Nov 09, 2009 12:44 pm

Well, I posted in General Chat about our new band. Had our 1st practice Saturday, and WE'RE GONNA ROCK! Awesome lead guitar player, and Marty (the sax playing friend of mine who's played in Maupin with me) can belt out rock lyrics like you can't believe! The other guitarist and I have very different, complimentary styles...we sounded tight already on a few tunes....exchanging leads. This is gonna be a BLAST!!!

Anyway, we have gigs at the neighboring tavern on Sat Dec 12 and Sat Dec 19th. If anyone wants to come over for a fun night of music (I need groupies....no big hugs in public from the guys though :geek: ...well okay)

We have cabins available that I'll rent out cheap if you don't want to stay in your buses....I also have hookups for power so you can bring your electric heaters. Would be a fun, change of pace kind of bus gathering with my pals. If you want to see two fly fishing guides, the mayor of Maupin, a back specialist from Washington and the local Maupin music teacher rock, come join us! Just a thought. Mark

This is a 'no minors' event?

I will pencil it in on the master calendar for at least one of the shows.

Can we throw our unmentionables on the stage?

Bump! Anyone coming? Our cabins are already spoken for...but I have electric to plug in heaters. 19th I believe we still have cabins. Should be fun! Mark

The 12th was kaiboshed for me with a bday gift of a night at timberline with snowshoeing and boarding.

19th has been kerplunked with the company xmas party (mandatory attendance!?!....) Sunday Morning.

Sorry I will miss the Debut.

I will still be able to say "I knew the guitar player when he was playing out in the cold with frozen fingers...."

Rock the house Mark.

All set up and ready to ROCK! Last week went great...this weekend we all seem a bit more relaxed which isn't gonna hurt. No pay, but all the beer we can drink (we made out pretty well last weekend :drunken: ) You may even see us at the RendezVW this year....mix it up a bit. Puttin' on my best tie-dye and headin' out. Later all. Mark

Yeah! We had some magical moments last night. We've only played together 5 or 6 times...we already sound pretty damn good! Fun playing driving rock and blues again. A true pleasure to play with very skilled musicians...we're pulling tunes together quickly, and when we get in the groove, we rip! Our lead singer is the sax player buddy of mine who's helped out at the last couple of RendezVW's ... you should hear him sing...absolutely solid! And, having his sax sure adds flavor to the stuff we are doing. Hopefully, you'll see us at the RendezVW.
