6 days on the road...Northern WI
About 890 miles total since last Sunday with my better half and two dogs. Bus ran great...had an electrical issue pop up early on and got lucky with a friend in the area who was able to fix it for us...one loose shock bolt on Friday otherwise trouble free.
On the Ferry near Merrimac in Central WI, I was told this is the last free Ferry for Autos in the world:
Camp at Devils Lake State Park the first night...it was about 50 and rain..we had a beer and dinner and went to bed.
On Monday morning we had cold breakfast and hit the road for about 150 mile drive to Wausau to stay at Rib Mountain State Park...We dealt with 50mph gust winds and driving rain. It was so damp and windy at the top of the Mountain that we had a soup dinner with a beer or two in the bus and snuggled tight for the night.
Me and Domino
On Tuesday we drove the rest of the way to the American Legion State Forest which is loaded with small lakes and State Parks. Here's the dogs at a County Park we stopped at for lunch:
Here's the bus at the campsite:
It was finally dry enough to have a decent campfire and fire up the grill.
Here's one of the nearby lake we fished on:
Fall color drive:
Another '72 we spotted in Minocqua...MI plates and an interesting spare tire mount:
At the falls where we went for a nice hike:
Had a beer there and a snack...the beer was better
I will add some more pics and update with a few stories of the next couple of days.

Thanks. It's actually a Vanagon side tent that I picked up years ago. It's so nice to just throw your gear in there and go on a day trip.zblair wrote:=D> Beautiful photos!
I really dig your little awning/outdoor room thingy. We need one!
Next time, the canoe is going on the roof...Many of the lakes up there are designated "Absolutley no motors".
