Ezy-Awnig NO MORE!

Post by misszora » Wed Jun 03, 2009 9:29 pm

Bus Depot is out of Ezy Awnings and they don't know if they will ever get them again. They cancelled my order! Grrrrr!

Is there an equivalent out there? :bounce:

thanks.

I wonder if you can still order them direct from Just Kampers?

Hiya Paige,

This is not an equivalent but it might be an alternative............

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewto ... ht=walmart

I went this route. With a little creative tinkering and some sewing it turns out to be a pretty nice little awning. That for only $30US. Pretty easy to set up and take down also.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, I won't step foot in a Walmart. I need to think creatively and see what I can come up with.

Campmor sells an awning with poles for $30, prob just a tarp but looks 1/2 decent.
I'll try to find the link.

edit: here it is, think it's worth $30? I may get one too...

I would check into the "shady boy" as well. LiveonJG has one, it is THE way to go if you don't mind dropping the coin for it.

That thing's huge! At 11x11 you might have trouble finding space to set it up unless you're in a big spot.

Plus it's not fancy enough. :geek:

Kids, man. The single life is heavy with cash. If you had spawned then you'd be shoppin the bargain basement too. Well maybe not. :pirate:
How big is your fold up awning? 8x8?

The Shady Boy is nice but a little out of my price range and I think you're right about the other awning being a bit too big. Hmmmm. Creativity is definitely going to come into play. I need something for Maupin.

You're right that is too damn big.
I never set up an awning in Maupin. If it gets hot, I just find some shade. Rain is a different story.
I wish there was an awning out there that wasn't $150 bucks and ready to roll.

Here's all I've found, a little better:

Hell I still shop the bargain basement for almost everything I buy. It's just that I'm usually buying kinda spensive stuff. Can't remember the last time I paid full retail for something though. Especially clothes. I can't believe people pay over a hundred bucks for a pair of jeans. Now that's madness.

Which fold up? The Easy Up one? I think that one might be 10x10. The Ezy awning I think is 8x8. I think that is just about the right size. Enough space to get out of the rain but not so big that it's trouble to set up in most spots.

The biggest problem with any of the free standing set ups is that you will have a gap between the canopy and bus. Unless you sew a section on like in the above link.

I'd like to find something like this at about ¼ the price.
