Here's mine:

Made by White Stag out of Portland. It's actually a Vanagon tent I think. Paid less than $100 for it but had to replace a couple of poles.

What do you have?

Old tarp with found rope and poles. Yeah I gotta upgrade. Campmor sells a tarp with poles for like $30, I can't afford those fancy $150 domed awnings like everybody loves out here. We'll see.

I've got an awning too, it was a sweet birthday present.

That's a beautiful bus, of course I am partial to the color. You remember what brand paint you used?

How about $29.95 for one of those fancy domed awnings? I can show you where and how. A little labor involved (and a few more bucks - nothing serious though), but a most satisfactory result.

Thank you Spiffy. It's Dupont Nason single stage acrylic. About $120 for a gallon IIRC.

The bumpers and wheels are a mid 50's beetle color.

Hiya Hiway,

Indeed, I am!

I just wandered on over to WallyWorld and bought one of those. It's lightweight to be sure, but the fabric is water proofed, the support poles are steel, and the dome rods are fibreglass. Comes with guy lines and stakes also. Throw in some clips and magnets, a little creative engineering (as demonstarted in the TS thread) and you are on your way for cheap.

It looks good, but I don't like that sewing bit. Nor do I like to support Walmart. I guess it's nice to have the awning over the bus door but not crucial either.

From the pics at least it looks as good as the Busdepot one at one third the price. I actually tried to order the Busdepot one last summer but they wanted to charge something like $50 for shipping to Canada so I declined and ended up getting this one, which, after shipping ended up being only a few bucks more for a waaaaay better product.

IMHO I would rather support the folks that are builing purpose built stuff for
our buses. As you can see mods had to be made so that rain water would not plop in thru the sliding door. The mods look very effective but I would rather not have to futz with something to make it work right if I can save up and get something that works out of the box.

And yes the shady boy is THE way to go if you have the clams to get one.

I really like my Just Kampers awning. The full length is pretty sweet, can fit alot a beer drinking bus folks under it in a downpour.
