Someone once said there are times in our lives where all of the planets and stars seem to align in just the right way; where all events fall into place like tumblers in a lock; and where you fleetingly glimpse the face of God and know, really know, that there is a reason why fate has brought you to this moment and that everything is as it should be.

Last night was not one of those times.

Glasseye and I had depressing time last night at the Lucky Lab on Hawthorne. Now I’m not gonna say exactly how we ended up at the LL on Hawthorne except to say that one of us was responsible for looking at this very thread just moments before departing for the LL to see if anyone gave us a hint to which Lucky Lab we were headed. I can only think it must have been advancing age, dimming vision, and waning vitality that lead us to overlook the obvious declaration by Tristessa that we were to meet at the Lucky Lab on Quimby.

Sorry guys.

Now glasseye is headed for the California Redwoods and I will mosey on back up the Columbia gorge and crawl back into the hole from which I came. Wish us luck in our travels and we will see you in Maupin in June (there is only one Maupin, right?).

Tim

Bummer. :pale:

So, how was the Hawthorne Lab last night? When we first got there, Quimby was rather .. crowded. And noisy. Which isn't usually the case for that location...

If I were rubbing a few of the grey cells together I would have thought to call the lucky lab on hawthorne to see if we could get them to look for some lost travelers or holler "Glasseye" into the throng (if I could resist the urge to have them look for Ivana Humpalot).

Sorry we missed you guys. Good times. Good beer. Next time we will have to pm a cell phone er something. Doh!

Safe travelling, gentlemen.

So I assume I was wrong with the whole Marquam Bridge thing. A good guess, you have to admit. So what was the big announcement? Was it that two old guys can't read the thread to know which Lab to go to? That seems rather anti-climactic. My life is so "groundhog-day'ish" that I must live vicariously through someone who's actually seeing something different than he did yesterday. :geek:

Dammit@! How many times did we say they're probably sitting at Hawthorne? Sorry we missed you guys. I guess that just means you have to come to Maupin.

"No way" we said. "they're too smart for that" we said. "they would have checked and seen where we landed"- we said.

had we actually let a pitcher empty before getting another we may have had a chance of extricating ourselves long enough to take a stab at swinging by over there. Aaaaah...Beeeeeeer.
