Intercooler seal?

I ain't working there if it looks like that outside. Won't.

The Bentley calls it an oil cooler, but it's really more of an oil warmer, I think. It's that little square box on top of the oil filter with the two small coolant hoses coming out.

The big shop here is always toasty, well lit, and with every tool known to man. I got you covered.

If the nipple unthreads from the mounting flange, ditch the oil heater and put an actual oil *cooler* in the rig. Y'know, something that puts the oil's heat into the *air*, not the cooling system...

I did just that on my Scirocco, and both oil and coolant temps dropped by 10-15*C .. much happier engine now, except for the exhaust leak...

Was the seal bad or was the pressure from cold 20-fitty too much for it?

oh, thank goodness those nasty winds were at our back on the way home, chitwn made it out just fine this morning. Our intrepid traveler is on his journey!

We met satchmo in Walla2 and headed off to crash the campout. The winds had picked up while I was packing up and I was starting to think oh sh*t, this is going to be a loooong slog. You see the wind here blows right in your face going west and it isn't a light or nice wind. It is a constant, gusty, a** puckering adventure for 200 miles. You know, the drives that make your eyeballs and driving arm burn.

Thanks to Tim we had a watercooled lead vehicle to push the air and get there as a team. You can definitely tell someone who has a lot of aircooled stick time, Tim kept a solid speed and we were so close that the gusts would push both vehicles across the lane at the same time :pirate:

And THEN, for the second year in a row.....SNOW. This campout was ballyhooed as the MArch madness spring fling a couple years back :geek:
Next year we are bringing snow shoes, well and I think Mark is gonna hide the starter fluid from me :pale:

After packing up to get home at a decent hour and to be able to have the house ready for our guest (chitwn) we left bright and early. Hammie was ready to get on the road as well, the snow had made the road in slick as snot!!!

Looks like I missed out!

I think the highlight was the telling of Beeping Sleauty by satchmo, that guy must have many gold medals in mental gymnastics.

Not my best videographer job, but it gives you the feeling of the live music. Sure wish I'd thought to catch Satchmo's poetry reading!

I liked the ax cameo. A little dramatic tension never hurts.
