Closed and recorded today. Keys will be exchanged tomorrow. It is very exciting!

Have bleach and other cleaning stuff and will be doin' a number on it tomorrow! (Lots'o mice and Gorgerunner planted the Huntavirus seed in me pate!)

Last week was spent doing 'yard work' and decking repair, and of course enjoying time in the trees.

Saturday morning found me at 7:00 am picking huckleberries from the hundreds of plants on the property to make huckleberry pancakes!

I spent some time clearing some ground to make room for busses too!
So it all started when I wanted to get better gas mileage....

Ok. So I know it's been almost two years since the purchase of this little getaway and I haven't shared more with yall.

After we got it we set to work gutting it out. pulled out the trash (ie camping stuff) that had been left behind. The place had not been used for at least 10 years and there were cans of food from the 70's. It was a toxic hazard.

After gutting we painted the lower level (there is a little loft above) to brighten it up a bit. We went to visit and work every other week or so at first. We spent Thanksgiving there the first year and made several mid winter trips.

The following Spring was beautiful and we started being able to go up without it being a big 'work party'.

It is now in a condition to be able to grab a bag of food, some water, and a change of clothes for a weekend getaway.

I am now prepping parking bays for some busses to be able to come up.

Hambone and Fam. Joined us on the Independance day weekend and Little Hammie and Little Gypsie had a pet crawdad they named "Melody" (you know, Ariel the Mermaid's daughter). They got to show Melody sparklers and stuff. We had intended on catching Crawdads to have a little tasting but were not able to get enough so they just palyed with that one all day. When it came time to toss her back, both littluns were insistent on cooking her up. ?!? After a little discussion it was decided that we would wait til next time to boil little Melody and she went back into the stream for later....

The pix may be out of order but here they are.

I hope to have a Bus gataway this summer. Hope some of you can make it.

Oh, Did you see that one with the little chipmunk? The little guy was making a home in the chimney. I was standing on the porch about 20 feet from him and lobbed a pinecone to give him a start and shoo him off. I accidentally hit him square on the head. Not what I intended but I still had a little charge like sinking a crosscourt 3 pointer...
So it all started when I wanted to get better gas mileage....
