Just curious, what direction would you come in from? Somewheres other than 26? Looking forward to the weekend. Will bring my way cool river outfitting awning....will provide large dry space. We laugh at the weather!

I come in from
I205 south
224 east to Estacada
to
FS 46
That's the main way into the Clacky from Portland.
For you it's EZ, I think 42 drops down to 46.
I will post a map!
I will also bring a tarp, looks like maybe a wet one. But you never know around here.
There's also a couple nice trails nearby. One recently saved from oblivion, the other still lurking in the old trees. Parallel Rho Creek.

Mark, I think you want FS42 to FS46. I'll confirm that when I git home.

Really easy to find. Cross the Clackamas on FS4670 and take an immediate left on FS4671. Stay left, cross Lowe Creek. Go around a curve and the next creek crossing is Rhododendron Creek. Campspot is right before the creek, on the right. Ya can't miss it. I'll probably be there first? Mid morning Friday.

No. Let's see  , mud boots, tire chains, shovel, rain gear, extra tarps, firewood, propane, extra dry clothes, yeah, I think I'm set. Remembering food and beer of course. And yes, the dog.

Bike. Hmmm. Yeah, I'll likely tote it...makes for a fun exploring rig. If it's raining like hell, I'll be sittin' under the tarp scratching my head.

Reading through this thread is great encouragement. I'm reminded of my objective.. to feel spontaneous and adventurous. I few more repairs and I'll be there... next year.. early spring for sure. Have fun guys, take pictures. I'm living vicariously through your adventures!
