Oregon Country Fair?
I'm wondering fi anyone here is going to the Oregon Country Fair this weekend? July 11-13, 2008. We are thinking about it, but we really can't afford the gas and camping so I am also looking for some local insight on some dispersed camping within an hours drive or so. The camping nearest is very expensive, we are willing to drive back through Eugene toward home, Bend. We're thinking about Delta Campground.

HWY-126 to FS-19 aka "Aufderheide Drive" has dozens of great camp spots. Take the left onto 19 a few miles west of the turnoff for 242/McKenzie Pass.
We camped there Sunday night, weather was perfect, spot was nice and secluded. Hit a few hot springs on the way to and from. There are some nice spots on FS-500, left turn, just after you cross the bridge over the inlet to Cougar Reservoir. Just don't camp too close to the actual campground.

"Live life, love life. Enjoy the pleasures and the sorrows. For it is the bleak valleys, the dark corners that make the peaks all the more magnificent. And once you realize that, you begin to see the beauty hidden within those valleys, and learn to love the climb." - Anonymous
