"weekend" camping for the non-weekender Portlander

Post by tristessa » Sun Jul 06, 2008 9:04 am

So I've realized that there's a decent-sized group of us that have days off that aren't weekends. Mary and I are off Thursdays and Fridays, Bob .. you're off Thursday thru Saturday, right? And IIRC, when were were at the Lucky Lab with Colin last week Paige mentioned having Thursdays and Fridays off and that Mark (Marc?) has most of those days off too. Plus Joseph & family and their potentially infinitely flexible days-off.

Summer's just getting started and there's a crapload of places to go camping within an hour or two of Portland .. see where I'm leading with this? :cyclopsani:

Anyone game?

Hiding away from here, 'cuz a lot of the posts in here just after this forum started were on weekend-weekends .. which I can't go out on and it just made me depressed.

Gotta run to work..

Heck, there have been a couple trips where I went Thurs-Sat, and only had a night with fellow IACers. It sorta sucked but better than nothing I guess.

Camping on off days would be swell!

Post by misszora » Sun Jul 06, 2008 9:13 pm

Yep - I have Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays off most of the time from my main gig and my second job is pretty flexible. Marc is a freelance web dude plus he teaches a couple mornings a week so Thursday through Saturday are good from him as well.

Speaking of camping . . . we've got a few open acres up in Washington near Goldendale and were just talking about having an air-cooled gathering up there. It'd be pretty bare bones and it's a little dry up there this time of year so no campfires but there are lots and lots of stars to look at.

If Paige actually turns out for a camping trip, I'll have to take days off to be there.
The best navigators aren't sure where they're going until they get there. And then they're still not sure.
