July 2018 - Astico Park

The world is getting a *little* smaller again... we took a completely impromptu trip to Astico Park and had a wonderful weekend. The weather was absolutely perfect (mid 80's during the day and 50's at night) and we had a great riverfront site with no neighbors. This place has always been just plain relaxing for us and it was great to share it with the kids. This might be the best hammock spot east of the Mississippi.
We cooked hot dogs over the fire, told stories, and rented a canoe for a brief paddle up and down the Crawfish River. The kids had a great time even though the mosquitoes tried hard to interfere. After a couple nights listening to the owls and frogs argue over who was loudest, it was time to pack up and head home. Looking forward to even more trips this year... this was already the fourth but I've been lax about posting.
