We had the bus packed pretty full for a 400 mile round trip to Brunet Island. We've visited a couple times before and wanted to come back with our "new" (to us) inflatable canoe since many of the sites are right on the water. We had good luck fishing from the site and explored some of the backwaters of the Chippewa river as well. All in all a good, if not short, trip. Just a couple photos:
The grey bag is the canoe.
Camping right on the water.
I always love how bright yellow-green the leaves are in the early spring.
Mmmm, crappie.

Re: Brunet Island
It's a very nice, relatively unknown, state park. The campground is split into two parts, with the northern section having the prime campsites along the water. There is a link-up to the Old Abe bike trail and a nice swimming area besides the ample paddling and fishing opportunities. I'd recommend checking the place out if you ever get the chance. It's pronounced Brooh-nay (French) if you want to sound like you know what you're talking about.
