Trail Advocates of the Clackamas
I'm involved with these guys, all volunteer trail work. Surprisingly, the Forest Service does very little trail work any more, at least in the national forests surrounding Mt. Hood. It's tuff and exciting work, steeped in history.
If you're in the area, "Trail Index" has some great info on little used routes.

You've found some neat spots hambone. My favorite would be the meadows on the Abbot Road. I liked the one where the cattle were grazing. Was it Frying Pan Meadow? I don't know. I'm sure there's a lot of cool wilderness around there. I liked that big tree on the edge of the meadow with the split forked trunk. I thought it was an Englemann Spruce but I'm probably wrong. And those incredibly tiny frogs hopping in the grass. The size of dimes and all different colors.
