Still a beauty. If you get $37k for it, I will take back everything I said about the sinfulness of running up the miles. I still would have rather seen its low mile rarity preserved, but what the heck, it's just a car. If you got to enjoy driving it for 70K miles, and still make a profit on the sale, who can argue?

Funny thing about sinfulness of running up the miles.
I agree that it was a sin with the BobD. That was a damn close to perfect factory fresh drive the first time I drove it, and it was a damn close to factory fresh automobile. Nothing I have done has made it *better* than the day I first drove it at 29,000 miles in 2004.
BUT
NaranjaWesty is definitely improving with the miles because we are slowly eradicating earlier traumas it had endured.
I would have felt worse selling NaranjaWesty at 42,000 miles than today's 92,000 miles.

*better?*
I respectfully disagree. You took the Pertronix out of it. ;) You got rid of that soundproofing on the firewall AND fixed the endplay at the same time. And how many times have you painted the exhaust now??
Plus, THAT bus under my feet and fingertips changed my view from “VWs are a fun college hobby car” to a more realistic “Oh, these cars demand hard respect and effort and driving and care and attention.” Which has saved at least one other bus that I know of.
Who finances “used cars?”
