We could also meet at the Clackamas Ranger Station in Estacada on Or224 - it's right on the south side of the road before entering town. I'm not exactly sure what the exit is for Town Center....
Jasan would probably know. Are you out there?

Been doing some messing around with my topo program while I try to fight off this cold today at home. It will be roughly a 45 mile drive from Estacada to the "campsite". About 20 miles from the hwy224 route 63 interchange at Ripplebrook ranger station which will take us south along the Collawash River. Final GPS coordinates will be roughly 44° 53.748n x 122° 00.275w and put us at around 2300ft.
Here are a couple screen shots of the route elevation profile and where in the middle of nowhere we will be. Follow the red route from Estacada.

I'm not sure of the exit number but it will be the Sunnyside Rd. exit. The Town Center is directly to the right after the exit.hambone wrote:We could also meet at the Clackamas Ranger Station in Estacada on Or224 - it's right on the south side of the road before entering town. Wow that was quick! I just went to Googlemaps, and found out it's the Sunnyside exit, glad to be of help......
I like your maps, cool stuff. We should meet somewhere before and caravan there, it's so much fun seeing buses in the rear view mirror.
Hope yer feeling better. Drink plenty of juice and tea.

Those maps sure are nice! They look pretty accurate too.
It was a beautiful bike ride to work this morning, it actually feels warm out there. Hope it sticks around...

That's why I have a huge 1893 locomotive cowcatcher mounted on the front of my bus!
We shouldn't have much to worry about, most of the route is on paved roads, and the rainfall has been typical, nothing too crazy...and things seemed really solid when I was out that way last Friday.
Hey VWs can float, right? Wonder if that applies to buses too?
I'm not gonna have much wood to bring. I'll stop at the grocery store and pick up a couple bundles tho. Once you get a fire goin you can even burn the wet stuff.
