IAC midwest get together

Post by mattg » Fri Jan 26, 2007 7:11 am

I was just thinking there seems to be quite a few of us from around the chicagoland area and surrounding states. Maybe we should try and get together sometime later this year and do some camping or something.
I'm all out of ideas and I've tried nothing.

You could probably get some of the Ohio contingent to come too! (depending on when and where...)

That campground in Galena would be awesome for you guys. I miss that place...Wooded Wonderland. Space for 50 buses if need be.

"* Wooded Wonderland, 610 Devils Ladder Road, south of U.S. 20, five miles east of Galena, has rustic campground with limited facilities."

If you want camping, what about Kettle Moraine in Wisconsin?

My only thought with funfest is we'd be heading south and it might be warmer there. Maybe some camping in July or August.

It would be nice to pick a location where we could get folks from: WI, IL, MI, IN, OH and whoever else might be close enough.

Of course, the UP is always my first choice when considering a trip.

We will have to try and see who is interested in coming and then try to pick a location based on that. Ive camped in Wisconsin, galena is nice, indiana or possibly sw michigan would be nice as well.

I sure hope it's an early spring this year. I am in dire need of a campout and good drive to get there.

The winter weather seems to have a hold on us right now. The forecast calls for above normal temps from Feb - April of course it has been so cold the last 10 days. We just got about 4 inches of snow yesterday - so light and fluffy I guess because it was about 6 degrees out. I am itchy to get outside but it is just a little cold - maybe next week.

Now we're talking - that's my neck of the woods.

Make sure it's late summer - then I might actually have a running bus to drive! :alien:
