The March 20-22 Spring Solstice GTG is fast approaching. Weather should hold out. C'mon...Sun.

The deal is that we have four spots that can take eight vehicles. There are four of us, maybe five, who will be there for both days. Three others expressed interest for a Saturday spot, be it camping or just visiting.

So, I'm thinking that the two day people will have there own spot for Friday.
Those who come up for Saturday will just double up. Easy.

Again, the Friday people(s) will ask for one of the four spots, by number, to get into the CG. Ante up at the camp site. The Saturday people(s) will also ask for one of the four spots by number. They'll pay six bucks at the gate to get a second vehicle pass and ante up the eleven bucks at the camp site. Saturday visitors will pay the six bucks, referencing one of the four spot numbers at the gate to get in and you're all good.

Here is my full name. You can jot it down for added info at the Ranger kiosk. They will have it in the kimpooter that the spots will have two vehicles.

Regis and/or Ray Lehrman. The last name is the important one to have.
Spots, 35, 37, 39, and 38.

See ya there!!

I'm going to have to sit this one out, due to a prior commitment. Y'all have fun, and I'll see you at Bus City and/or Finnon Lake.

Which will be April 3-5 at Del Valle. Regis and I have booked spots 77 and 79, and can take an extra car apiece. Details of the site are at:

http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/m ... kId=110003

Be sure to let us know if you want to double up on one of our spaces or book your own close by.

So if you can't make the Solstice event, here's your next chance.

This half of Lake Del Valle CG open Aprils 1st. There is yet another section beyond the area we will be camped in.

Spot 79 is one of my fav's in this CG. I try to go there in the early spring and late fall. The regular summer months has this place full.

So yes, we each can take another vehicle since two are allowed per spot.

If more room is needed, spot 78 across the way is user friendly.

This is a nice CG that is close to the Bay Area and is user friendly for the Stockton and Sacto people as well as the Bay Area itself.

Anyone who would come up on either friday or saturday will pay for a $6 second vehicle pass at the Ranger kiosk. The difference in splitting the spot(s) would be divided up with the other person. The second vehicle can not be paid for in advance.

There is a nice group site close to where we are going to be. I never have got info about cost for it. Could/would be a very good place for a major gathering. You'll just have to come up and see fer yerself. Flush terlets, showers, piped water, a dish washing area, peace, love. It's all here.

I want to first say that to my chagrin, the Solstice event was actually an Equinox event. Spring and fall are the equinox(s). Winter and summer are the Solstice(s).

So next year will be the, 1st annual Vernal Equinox GTG.

To those who made a sacramental burn, it still counts. I'm calling it.

Back to the program. It was a good time. Had some sun and rain. Hung out with old friends and made new ones. Plenty of wood, food and tasty beverages. Wore out the dog. Flew kites. kept a fire going most of the time. Larry took some pic's on Saturday. He put up a link on the vwcamperfamily site. Larry must've took the sun charm with him 'cause shortly after he and Hilda left the storm blew in. Gonna have to keep you there next time, Larry (':cyclopsani:') Frank & Deb posted pic's also under his bigtreeway album

Another gathering is on for April 3-5 , also at Del Valle. Room for two more vehicles.

Neillo Volkswagen Ranch Run

Post by JLT » Thu Apr 02, 2009 2:50 pm

For those who won't be going to the Del Valle campout, there's another event in Sacramento:

http://www.nielloranchrun.com/

The Niello Ranch Run is a charity event put on by various VW concerns. Here's a partial schedule:

FRIDAY, APRIL 3RD 6-9PM

Cruise-in @ Sonic Burger
Pleasant grove and HWY 65
Hosted by Sac Water Car Club

SATURDAY, 4TH 11:00AM - 3:00PM

Open House BBQ @ Bugformance
1620 El Camino Ave - Sacramento

5PM - 8 PM

Open house BBQ at Kombi Haus
3537 2ND Ave- Sacramento

SUNDAY, APRIL 5TH

8AM -9AM Ranch Run from Niello VW to " THE RANCH" in Lincoln

9AM - 10AM Registration
10AM - 3PM Car show and swap at " THE RANCH"

Needless to say, you don't have to participate in the whole shebang ... just the run itself, or the open houses, etc. is cool.

Are we still posting No Cal GTG events here?

Post by Melissa » Thu Apr 16, 2009 12:58 pm

Or have we migrated to vwcamperfamily? I like Brett's idea of a place to post camping events.
