Where is it? and what is it's function? What would happen if a bus didn't have one?

I'm asking on Scott's behalf, my recent guest from Ontario, as his bus did not appear to have one.

I think (but don't actually know) that it is part of or near the AFM unit.

Is there even a track you can test for it to be int he spec on the big ECU plug?

Yes, it is in the AFM housing. You won't see it, it is connected electrical through the same wire harness/plug for the AFM.
