Interesting. It seems like I have these symptoms.
Does the ECU have to match the distributor? Or the FI system? Although late Djet is pretty similar, but there seems to be a different distributor for EACH YEAR after 1969...so I'm not sure.

I have an "AB" distributor installed, a 1970 model.

I'd imagine it's cheaper to replace the distributor VS the ECU? I dunno.

Most of the specificity is in regards to threading emissions through the needle of the EPA. Do not replace the ECU on wild goosechase guessing games.
But, manifold sensor and ECU matching is important, as is ECU and throttle switch. Did we kill the hunting at idle with our ridiculous three hour throttle switch adjustment?

It still hunts a tad. The main thing is lurching thru low idle transition. It really feels like the advance curve is wrong for my application. Feels like the 009 flat spot, but lurching instead.
It would be interesting to have a throttle switch that adjusts properly, but maybe that's a minor issue at this point.
ECU + "X" distributor is ok? (X = 1970-73) Interesting and noted.
I will have to compile part numbers and do some research. There must be some mish-mosh going on.

This car wants me to learn everything about it, God bless the little beast.
