That is a Holley-Weber carb.

The L7760 is a Holley number.

Is there any numbers stamped into the lower base, like 32/36?

This kit should work: http://www.vwsparts.com/m_19.asp?pro=16 ... ey%2Fweber

THANKS Karl,
The only #'s are R7760 on the side of the carb base.I double checked at the local Parts house and it does look like a 5200 kit will work. The only difference is the choke setup. I think I;ll change over to an electric setup if all goes well....Thanks again......jrbo
