I would run it at 7.5 BTDC if it is a stock engine. When you time it get your basleline 7.5* and then rev the engine up to 3k rpms and check to see that your vacuum advance is working, you should be in the neighborhood of 28* to 32* BTDC. This change will also affect your idle.

Anyone got a link to Colin's AFM adjustment method? If you can find this it would be a good thing to look at as well while you are tuning everything up.
