Fuel pump WANTED

Post by hambone » Mon Apr 30, 2007 9:56 am

Does anyone have a good used German 1600 fuel pump (rebuildable style) lying around? I'm sure not gonna pay $150 to OEVEEDUB for a new one, and the Brazilian pumps suck (instead of pump?)....
Please lemme know.

Hmm the rebuild kit is pretty cheap, will this make an old pump good as new?

If it has a nice new neoprene gasket, better than new. Lubricate all pivot surfaces with moly and you could have a nice long life with a rebuild.

This might seem extreem to you guys but when a garage dude changed out my original fuel pump for a brazzilion one I cried and demanded the old one back (out of the trash) I had rebuilt it with at that time , availabile kits many times. I still have it, in a box somewhere, I showed it to Colin on one of his visits but at the time was not a primary issue. Now that I see WW has rebuild kits available, I will get one and take it with me if there is a failure. I love simplicity and again thanks Bob for the question
