Vanagon Injector "0-280-150-114" Physical Substitute

Does anyone know of any Bosch top fed injectors that would physically fit into Vanagon intake runners? This is for non stock use. Looking to get a bit more fuel out in shorter open time.
Ratwell has a nice write-up on 1:1 replacement. (http://www.ratwell.com/technical/Injectors.html).

What is your fuel delivery issue?

Witchhunter performance has a page with photos of injectors and the flow rates they've measured here: http://witchhunter.com/injectordata1.php. Maybe you can find what you're looking for there.

I suspect think there is an inconsistent fuel flow on one of the injectors -- I'll probably take them off and get them tested and cleaned first. Do you guys know if the 1983-1991 Vanagon high impedance injectors will physically fit into the slot?

That was a very helpful site. Some of the injectors looks physically the same. Also, I am sure L-Jet could be made to work with any of these injectors as long as they fit.

I thought the early Ljet injectors were low impedance so maybe they won't work. Getting them cleaned, leak tested and flow tested is a good plan. For my djet 914 2.0 I had about 16 injectors that I had cleaned, leak tested and flow tested. Then I took em and matched them into 4 sets that are nearly all the same flow as they don't flow the same CC's. Makes for a smoother motor.

This is for NON-STOCK use. I can use either Low-Z or High-Z injectors, with various flow, as long as they physically fit into the intake and fuel rail and seal.

Can you do a LM-1 (or 2 whatever you got) test where you pull each injector plug one at a time and compare which one drops the mixture the most/least . . . ? :blackeye:

Good idea. I have the LC-1 (stand alone LM-1)

Measure the impedance across each injector to see if within spec.
I clean injectors in an ultrasonic bath (Home Depot)

early L-jet injectors used copper wire solenoid, needed resistor pack...later ones used brass wire to eliminate need for resistors

Well aware of that. I can use either injector with my system.

Uhh, luft? What's the purpose of that itty-bitty air filter dangling off of the EVAP hose return line?

It's to keep big stuff out, and let air out. It looks strange without the filter. I will be piping that directly into the intake boot later, and removing that big ugly red filter. I'll be replacing it with a nice Uni foam filter. I'm slowly removing all of the bugs in the system. I have put about 400 miles on the current EFI system... day and night difference... I highly recommend this swap to everyone. It's cheaper than purchasing dual webers if you are considering swapping over. The biggest thing is to not let it get to you. There will be bugs, but if you take your time, and do it right, you will have a lot less bugs to deal with.

If you guys are interested, I could do a write up once all my kinks are worked out. The best part of the system is, I can get on the freeway, set my desired cruising speed+rpm, and do real-time tune of cruising AFR; or I can disconnect it and evaluate it later over coffee. Even better deal is availability of parts... Every auxiliary part is under $15... MAP, IAT, CTS, Relays... even if the resistors go out.. i can wire new inline resistors for under $5.
The only expensive sensor is the Bosch Wideband o2.... but it is not needed for motor to run... it's there for monitoring and tuning only....

The clarity of your write-up will be a key element to convincing us . . . :study:
