I am getting what sounds like the beginning of a throwout bearing starting to go now that I am driving the bus again though. Just a little growl the first time or two I engage the clutch to start from rest when its cold.
Pilot bearing in crankshaft is a possibility that you must differential diagnose. Release bearing makes noise primarily always at first light spin just when you barely touch the pedal. The pilot bearing makes noise when the input shaft is stationary and the engine is turning. It gets annoyed when you take up the clutch in 1st gear.
