Probably not the crankcase because the bits can't get under the bearings. Might have chewed the bearings though.

In order for the bits to hurt the bearings, they have to get into the crankcase 1st. No evidence of this.

Well, your probably right in that I doubt, too, there is real bottom end damage. But I would change the oil right away to clear any small bits that might be chewing the bearings if left in. I don't trust oil filters all that much. Anything that can get by the ring gaps might not get caught.
