Brand-new 2.0 w/ dual Solexes puffing at idle

I was holding my hand about 10 inches back from the tailpipe to make it more audible. The engine has about 30 miles on it.

Hard to tell from your video, but this usually means its not hitting on all 4. The exhaust pipe looks very dark as if it running quite rich.
Take care,

Is it running well otherwise? If so, I wouldn't worry about this too much. I agree that if the pulses are irregular, you need to consider a non-firing cylinder. The pulses should be regular if things are working right. Take off the spark plug wires one at a time to check.

The exhaust pipe will have black stuff inside no matter how lean or rich you are. You need to pull a spark plug to see if you are running too rich.

Get through the break-in before tracking this minor symptom down.
(it's probably just residual saltpeter from our explosives-laden atmosphere during assembly)

Spark plug wires all dressed and not touching each other? Did we gap them to .025"? Point gap (.016") good? My memory fails me.

I gapped them.

I will do my best to banish this annoyance to the less-often plumbed recesses of my mind.
