Mahle Pistons from Brazil??

Post by jackstar » Tue Apr 12, 2011 7:03 pm

Just found out I need new P &C's I was advised to get Mahle pistons if available. I have seen where Oeveedub is selling Brazilian Mahles. Are these good, bad, to be avoided? Need some guidance. Also checked with Bus Depot and saw German Kolbenschmidts (sp). Same question, good, bad, unknown? Sachs seems to be the clutch to get, at least that is what seems to be available. As for "balancing" the pistons, how can I assure mine are balanced? Thanks for the input and the help. This is what I get for thinking I had a little timing issue. Thank God I didnt screw with the AFM.

I've heard good things about these, and for a nominal fee will come to you already balanced.

Just pick what you need from the drop-down box and then select 'balanced' from the second drop-down.

Ah...pistons with skirts. I miss those.
All the new cars slap and rattle until they warm up, all in the name of fuel mileage.

Type1 Mahles are excellent quality, type4 are probably just as good. Minimal balancing needed.

Now are the "non-chinese" Mahles the Brazillian Mahles? And are those the "excellent" quality ones?

Let's not get carried away with "excellent". The Brazilian Mahles generally work. That is a ringing endorsement here in 2011.

Brazilian Mahles are what came with my Camper Special kit. If they are up to Jake's standard then I guess they're good enough.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.
