Ya. I have an extra remote filter mount that could be rigged if the threads are 3/4-16.
WIX had a run of these with seepy seams.

I think it started about a year ago. Just some of them, and some of those are still on the shelves. I think they got it cleared up.

I'm unaware of any outright failures. Just complaints about seeping at the lock seam.
Happens to every brand now and then. NAPA should give you a new one.

I am on my way . . . By the way, I got a Mobil1 filter and it is giving me dry starts like the old days. That reminded me how much I like the fact that these NAPA Gold filters really do seem to keep the the galleries primed. YMMV,

Hmmm. Better stick to WIX/NG. It's a very good filter, overall.
(Bosch Distance Plus or plain old white can Purolator are good alternatives and have easy acivating anti-drainback valves if you can't get to somewhere that sells the former.)

I've heard some complaints about the ADBV leaking down and making rattly starts on *some* engines with the Mobil1/K&N, but I've never experienced that problem with them myself...Always got pressure right away.
Perhaps their thick silicon ADBV discs needs more "head" of oil to cause it to shut all the way than a stock flat 4 (and some others) can provide. Just my theory.

Ya. Me too - until I put a in/out pump and remote filter on the Bus.

Looks like the your filter, Colin, is 3/4-16" threads so we can pressure test it.

If it is under the known Wix seam leak deal of which you speak, it will be traded in before I get to Des Moines, unless you are extra-curious . . . are ya?
