removing Type 4 oil pump

Am I correct in my recall that I just need to loosen the bolt above and below the oil pump in order to be able to remove it.

Yep. And pry on the two tabs provided by the factory on the stock pump if you have one.

But dont pry TOO hard or you could snap those tabs off! Just pull it out nice and easy. I have a cheapo set of pry-bars I got from Harbor Fright. they work good. $6 total.
