Genuine Porsche Taco Plate in a Type 4 Bus

Post by BellePlaine » Mon May 11, 2015 6:34 pm

I bought a beautiful genuine Porsche oil sump cover plate for my new ED Type 4 engine; it is so bling. But tonight I discovered it doesn't fit with the stock length dipstick. Let me apologize right now in the event Ferdinand is rolling over in his grave for cutting this dipstick. Es tut mir leid.

Off with it's head!

Did you buy the little cover that goes with it? It protects the sensor and hold the wire in place

I tried one. Never could get it to seal. Still have it with the proper cover but went back to the original.

The two rubber cone-shaped grommets? Yes, but I can't figure out how they sit on the sender?

No, there is a sheet metal cover with a hole for the sender wire come out of. This is a pic of the taco plate.

I showed you the back side of the plate but there is a cover that protects the wire connection.
