Proper Tool for the Job

Post by misszora » Mon Jun 17, 2013 12:27 pm

Man! It is so much easier to access different parts of the engine when it's on a stand! :)

I'm trying to check and torque (if necessary) my exhaust & intake manifold nuts. I can sort of reach a couple of the exhaust ones but not all of them. And am definitely challenged on getting a good angle on the intake ones. I have a standard torque wrench and longer sockets and even a little extender but it seems like I needs something longer and thinner and more flexible. Recommendations?

thanks!

Dorky fat wall cheap china crap will not fit the exhaust manifold nuts if someone errantly put in 13mm instead of the called-for 12mm.
Elegant carbon steel thinwall SK sockets will fit with room to spare.

6" and 12" 3/8 drive extensions are nice to have.
