permatex vs versachem sealants

Post by JLT » Mon May 20, 2024 6:55 pm

I went to my FLAPS a few days ago looking for Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket (part # 80019) and they didn't have it. Instead, they had this product called Prime Seal Gasket Sealant Type 3 Aviation (their part #34000) from Versachem.

I compared the spec sheets and the two products seem identical. When my Permatex stuff runs out, I'll buy some of the Versachem stuff and see if it works the same way.

Good. Things change. I have been vetting new fuel injection-appropriate hose part numbers. The NBR 7x3 appears superceded by Choline 2122.

Cohline 2240 is even better than 2212. It's usable with all ethanol formulations up to E100; diesel and biodiesel as well. See
https://cohpro.com/cohline-fuel-hose/.

Colin, you may or may not recall that I gave you a chunk of Cohline 12 mm 2240 hose when you last visited. That was during your epic struggles with crap in NaranjaWesty's fuel tank where you limped into Steve's place after cleaning out the fuel filter by the side of the road for the umpteenth time. It was my hope that you would use it to replace the short chunk of 12 mm hose between the filter and pump which had been subjected to so many disconnections up to that point.
