PSA - BFG 195/75R14 discontinued

Post by Xelmon » Tue Mar 22, 2016 3:27 pm

Our favorite Load range C, the BFGoodrich T/A KO tire line has been discontinued.

Some sites/locations still seem to have stocks left in 195's. Most website are either out-of-stock or have completely removed them. Tire rack for example only has larger sizes, all at close-out pricing.

The T/A KO 2 series that is replacing our favorite do not have a 14" tire... At least yet.
It is also a more aggressive looking off-road tire.

Plan accordingly guys.

Fa-sho!
It's just a pity that they are moving on to a new design. Really liked the benign look to them.

New design in the same size?

"Benign look"? Is there a problem developing out here in the world with malicious looking tires?

Aye, new design. The knobs are slightly larger and less dense, so it should be even better for mud, snow, and potentially sand.

Erm, "benign" is probably the wrong word. Low key is better, specifically the side walls.
The new ones have a more "hard-core" look to them, not sure if I'm a fan.

You're not a fan. You are a human who may need tires. I'd roll them if they fit.

That is pretty subtle, I don't' care if that's it, you engineer you.
General Grabbers are also aggressive, DJ had some last year.
I almost feel like 4 BFGs are a tax on a 1600 engine on the highway. Most don't worry about that.

The Maxxis tires change the gearing on Chloe a little bit. That is why I am stuck on 57 mph speedometer cruising. It is actually just a lick under 60. Car feels the hills a little sooner, but I am in no hurry on a hill.

Eventually I will, kinda grown attached to these tires, or at least the mfg.
