Is the pin that holds them in hardened? Is it tapered?

Most people have not messed with them, including me.

On an old bus, you will likely need to drill the pin out and pray that it is no harder than the torsion arm, then you need to pray that the stud will turn with something under 1,000 ft/lbs of force while you try to twist it out of the arm, then you will need to replace the stud.

So what's up? Busted stud? What year vehicle?
