You are probably missing the backing plates. I've never had the problem, but I hear over and over this is the case of most squeaking noises with disk brakes.

I just used some brake quiet backing plate goop on my wife's Volvo. Seemed to work well and only takes pad removal to apply.

Still have some if you want to try.

NO NO NO NO NO.
Not only is that cheating, it will ooze and adhere to the boots and tear them to hell.

These cars are not Volvos. . . . hhmmph

Make sure you have the backing plates, find the cut-out tabs, rotate the caliper pistons to match the cut-outs which should be facing downward.

Sand the disks with 220 grit in a 45* cross-hatch to break any old glaze on the friction surfaces, outside and inside. Chamfer the leading edges of the pads with a 45* 3/8" wide "bevel".

Reassemble clean and dry, and git back to us with your results.

From what I've read, the only place you can get them is used from either Ken at www.thebusco.com or www.bustedbus.com. I think ChitwnVW just did this not too long ago. Todd?
