wrong caliper

Post by dingo » Wed May 11, 2016 1:49 pm

My 'rebuilt' left front caliper doesnt accept the bolt with wide shoulder. I've already given them the core so can't compare otherwise...dont see any part number to speak of...the top bolt fits...but shouldered bolt too wide for the hole....can i go with regular bolt or do i have to unravel this clusterfuck and go another route ?

other than that difference, it seems to be the same

i measure the the hole to be too small by less than 1/2mm.....can i shave/dremel out the hole and call it good?
or shave down the bolt ?

i hollowed out the hole to allow the shouldered bolt to fit...visually it looks like L...but no markings of any kind on the assy...only one bleed nipple and no sign of 2nd valve, nor anything in the casting

Please follow through with your supplier.

Make sure that the pistons do not contact the shim/brake pad at the lower edges. Yours might be upside down at this point. Is your bleeder at the top?

not sure if this what you are referring to, but the pistons are indexed such that the recessed section is between 10 to 2 oclock, and 12 ro 4 oclock (as if looking from the rotor to the piston)
