I have the following extra distributor:
JFUD4
0231168005
021905205P

That's a 76-78 federal bus distributor. If you want it, id happily trade ya for those spare rear tail lamps you mentioned. =)

When you say that smoke comes out of the brake booster valve, where? Outside surfaces? The valve does allow air to go towards the engine from the booster, just not the other way.
Colin
it comes out of both sides where the hoses connect to the booster check valve.
at first it looked like I was having a campfire in the engine compartment so much smoked came out.

Now its just a light smoke.

I sprayed Carb cleaner on it and no change in idol?

And Chris...
You can have those lights!
I only have one better than yours.
I also need to get you on the guest list for the derby game!

Text me you and your wifes name for the June 8th game.

I would love to buy that Dizzy off of you. I ordered one from Bus Depot it hasnt come yet.
Hopefully you are using a timing light to time the engine.
Yes yes I am. Kinda neat to learn how to use it!

I am idle timed at 8.5 with a 28 degree advanced at 3500.

Its a pertronix flamethower.

I timed it to the white dots on all the pieces.

Its running so great right now.

I rained so I never put in my new starter or horn.
but its on the to do list for sooner than later.

It will be interesting to see once the vaccum lines are all plugged back in and the right Distributor is in how she does.

This is a Technical Forum. Now that our troubleshooting/diagnosis seems over,
shall we move your chronicles to Type 2 where we can follow your adventures?

Grab a topic name and hie thee to Type 2, photographs welcome, let us know how it is running and any issues. I will delete some of the chit-chat here when I revisit this thread in a few days unless the sun is actually shining (which I despair of ever seeing again) in which case I will be outside catching up on my deferred cow maintenance.
