Welcome, pictures? How long have you had them? I'm attracted to the type 4s but have to admit I'm a little intimidated by the lack of parts. What has been you experience?

Re: I've just joined this forum!
There is a pic loading feature when you post near the bottom of the page or use a direct link copied from a site like Photobucket.com. I use Photobucket and somehow my pic of your Type 4 got lost. Hmm, I'll have to go back into my old pics to reload it.

AND I have some pictures on a Photobucket account, but I can't remember how to send them over here. I think I remember doing it for my shoptalkforums.com account but that was a few years ago.

Say Kirk, how did you get them?
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Re: I've just joined this forum!
Well it's a LONG story for each of them, but I will say that the yellow 411 I've had since 2001, the blue 412 since 2002, and the red 412 since 2005. I had another 411 and a 412 before these three, so five total since 1984. The red 412 is famous, at least in the small world of Type-4s!

I am jealous. Strangely, after 41 years, I just decided 15 seconds ago that I like the earlier front end.Kirk Knighton wrote:Well it's a LONG story for each of them, but I will say that the yellow 411 I've had since 2001, the blue 412 since 2002, and the red 412 since 2005. Re: I've just joined this forum!
I like the look of the 411 too - a bit "friendlier" than the shark-like nose of the 412. People have told me the 411 nose looks "Volvo-ish" while the 412 looks like a BMW ( minus a radiator!).
I don't know if people here knew of Julie Aleva and her famous red 412 wagon Sparkie?
