I know what you're talking about Colin. I could kludge one together in html. It would be rather simple. But I'm looking for a more elegant solution right now in PHP.

Email me if you want to start working on something like this.

Not necessary, but I wouldn't mind a visit.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of an online troubleshooting system. With a for purchase version available for your computer, blackberry, cellphone, etc. \:D/

This would be a fine structure unless we don't know what the problem is, only the symptom. Unless, you see the flowcharts at least getting us into the right arena. Still I'd like to see an ER area, the "I need help and I need it fast" crowd.

How about basing the structure of the site on the Muir book? :smt066

My sticky trouble-shooting intro will address the symptoms that lead you to each possibility.

For a no-start (engine) you only have to answer a couple of questions to narrow it down to fuel or ignition or tragic mechanical failure.

For noise over bumps you go to suspension. If it checks out you go to body/hardware section 211.755 aa sub c17 "check for loose cross bar jack in spare wheel well" O:)

How is your book broken down? It might give a framework.

How about a section for Odds and Mods for people like me that can't help but veer off the Pure Stock Factory Highway for no sensible reason other than to create something wacky...useful, artistic, more efficient, less efficient..whatever

Speaking of which, is there an extra stage of fitration in you intake to avoid eating tasty road tidbits?

The oem bug screen behind the intake grill is supposed to cuisinart bugs into smaller parts that eventually get rinsed out of the drains. As dingo mentioned, the rear wall of the intake plenum is supposed to catch particles and the outlet vents are supposed to give you particle-but-not-dust-free air.

The off the stock path will be represented here on the site, just don't know where yet. Due to widely divergent opinions, it will have to be open to forum debate/discussions and will probably not be a part of the technical/troubleshooter section.
