Little Miss Sunshine

Post by Randy in Maine » Tue Aug 29, 2006 1:01 pm

My wife wants to go see it (with me).

I cannot support a movie that has any "bus violence" in it. I belong to PETB - People for the Ethical Treatment of Buses.

Anyone know if real buses were harmed during the filming of the movie?

I have standards and take pride in the fact that I have never heard a Maria Carey song (and would not know if she ever even had a hit).

My motto is "Keep them fed and entertained". That seems to keep my wife happy, so take her to dinner and then the movie.

Though a few people I know have all thought it was a excellent show.

That's what I have been told to. I plan to see it. . . . somewhere.

I saw it opening day and I thought it was pretty funny, it was a family movie for todays fucked up families. Formula as hell, yet more satisfying than the other movies that follow the formula. And there was no bus torture, just some semi-realistic bus-related muphy's-law-type event.

Well I saw it. It was OK. I gave it a 6.5 on a 10 point scale.

You're a boot-tough critic, Randy. You in Maine now?

Of course I am in Maine. You would all be here if you had a choice. More than a hint of fall in the air.

Those Quebec girls are starting to grow on me. :cyclopsani:

Not too hot, not too cold. Was going to paint house trim trim, but rain is in the forecast.

We had a wonderful trip out to Minnesota and went entirely around Lake Superior. Kayaked way too much. Had way too much fun. US customs confiscated my hot dog, eggs and oranges when I came through in Minnesota all in the name of national security.

Paul Taylor (Duncwarw) and his girls showed up last weekend here in their 73 bus and we all had a great time.

I am a tough sell at the movies. Important for me to get my $8.50 worth. No damage was done to that bus that would not buff out.

Good time to crawl under the bus and adjust the rear brakes, when it rains. . . and trickles into a lake right under your back.

Come on, Randy, duh!!!!! Hot dogs are red, mustard is yellow, eggs are yellow and oranges are orange, that is a damn worrisome alert level.

The famous welded undercarriage bus? On the road? Excellent.

That's an endorsement then.

I saw the bus in person at the screening. It was running fine and the sliding door was fine too.

I had to close my eyes for that scene. My wife whispered, "That will buff out." We have been together a long time. :geek:

Yeah, I think the sliding door scene was a set, not a real bus. There was no sign of the corner damage shown in the movie. We looked.

They have had it as a coming attraction on the tini-tiny theater up here for two weeks. They do show lots of artsy flics I like but this "Labor Day Week-end" town is packed with people/families and I was looking forward to driving Elwood down to watch it ( only two blocks away) he-he, but they are showing the 9-11 pic instead????? Not for me!
