Give Iris my sympathy! I dated a girl once whose birthday was December 23, and she was used to getting only one present from her friends and relatives instead of two. "Since they're so close together, we decided to give you one really NICE present instead of two," she'd hear. Not what you want to hear when you're a kid. I suggest you select another day as the kid's "virtual birthday" or let her select it when she's old enough.

Happy holidays to one and all. I hope to run across many of you at Buses By the Bridge, the Maupin RendezVW, or somewhere else along the Funway.

Just rolled back into Athens from a whirlwind holiday trip to Rochester, NY. 15.5 hours up last Saturday and 15.5 hours back down today. Tired, but too wired to hit the rack just yet. Looking forward to the coming week off (yeah--life of the teacher!) and getting some stuff done on the VW's. Prepping the bus for a NE GA mountain trip (early pre-spring break shakedown) in the coming month or so and some other winter camping as well! For the bug, continuing to get acquainted--new oil cooler gaskets and a gas tank inspect and clean.
