So we've been working on prepping a garden space since last summer when we moved the horse corral and leveled things out, getting a fence put up to keep out the deer. Before it got too awful miserable, we managed to get all but three of the raised beds built and filled with soil. I also got a few garlic bulbs planted in October, which are up and doing well.
The long back bed has blueberries in it, and last Wednesday I got Swiss Chard seed in around the blueberries. I also filled one of the smaller beds with carrot and beet seed, and a row of peas next to the garlic. We've been mulching in horse manure and added some bone meal, Cheryle got started on the slate pathway.
Upstairs in the house are the tomato, pepper and tomatillo starts in trays.
Still have a lot of work to do to secure the fence, as the barn cats love the raised beds, biggest litter boxes they have ever encountered.
Two weeks ago we were still getting snow.
Just wanted to show off a bit. Quite exciting for us, no gardening success to date.
