Delivering the '03 (air-cooled) Beetle

Post by Hippie » Fri Nov 30, 2012 7:31 pm

Went on a road trip with a buddy to help haul this '03 Mexican Beetle back from winter storage for another friend.
It's been sold, and will be shipped to Italy to be the daily driver for an American (nationality, not airline name) pilot for his house over there. It only has 16,000 miles on it. (Yes, factory fuel injection too.)
Got it back to its temporary home about midnight, last.

Sorry about the cell phone picture quality.

Nobody got to drive it? I would have sawed through the tow bar and told the other friend, sorry man, had to drive it after all.

LOL...Nope, just pulling it out of the barn.
We had no idea whether or not a tow bar for old Buses or Standard Beetles would fit an '03 torsion tube until we made the 200 mile trip out, so the back-up plan was to have me drive the Beetle back home while he drove his truck. The bar fit perfectly.
Dang it.
